General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has strongly criticized the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) program introduced by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), labelling it as a scam and a fraudulent scheme designed to win votes rather than create meaningful employment or foster national progress.
Speaking at the launch of the NDC’s Youth Manifesto on Monday, at the UPSA Auditorium Mr. Kwetey referred to the NABCO initiative as a “419” policy, implying that it was a superficial strategy aimed at securing votes instead of addressing the country’s unemployment crisis in a substantial way.
“Over the last eight years, we have seen a number of policies that have been unveiled like NABCO. What has happened to it? Because it was nothing but a scam and a 419 policy. It was a policy designed for votes. The difference between us and them is that we think about policies first for progress before votes,” he emphasized.
Mr. Kwetey assured that the NDC’s upcoming policy agenda would restore hope among Ghanaians, especially the youth, who have endured significant economic hardships over the past eight years.
He highlighted that the NDC’s policies would be centred on genuine progress and national development, rather than mere political gains.
“Today, the flagbearer of our party will take time to unveil the policies of this party whose heartbeat is after the destiny of the young people, to elaborate plans which will set this country back towards giving hope and prosperity to our young people again,” he concluded.
