Following the turn of events during the Special voting excersie at the Ayawaso West Wugon constituency, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), has launched investigations into the alleged distribution of food to voters by the incumbent member of Parliament for the constituency, Hon. Lydia Seyeram Alhassan.
Some officials of the Electoral Commission and security personnel supervising the process also received the food packs.
The incident agitated the opposition National Democratic Congress’ Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency, actor John Dumelo and executives of the party, as Lydia Alhassan led the sharing.
Meanwhile, The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, has denied allegations that she distributed food to voters during the special voting exercise.
However, in an interview with the media, Lydia Alhassan dismissed the allegations, rejecting suggestions that her actions were intended to influence voters or violate electoral rules.
