Manchester United, West Ham, Everton, and Bournemouth are all in advanced talks to take part in the 2025 Premier League Summer Series in the United States. The pre-season tournament, scheduled for late July, will be staged in Atlanta, New Jersey, and Chicago. While final confirmation depends on clubs maintaining their top-flight status, these four teams are expected to feature.

This will mark the second edition of the Summer Series after the event was scrapped in 2024 due to scheduling conflicts. The 2023 tournament saw Chelsea lift the trophy, with Aston Villa finishing second and Newcastle third. Over 260,000 fans attended, surpassing expectations, and the Premier League is eager to build on that momentum.

Manchester United’s involvement in the Summer Series comes alongside a post-season tour of Malaysia and Hong Kong, expected to generate $10 million in revenue. The club is also exploring an additional U.S. friendly on the West Coast, potentially at San Diego’s Snapdragon Stadium, home to their shirt sponsor. However, a globe-trotting schedule could pose challenges for Ruben Amorim’s squad.

Bournemouth are the highest-ranked team from this group, with strong U.S. connections through American owner Bill Foley. They previously toured the U.S. last summer and are keen to expand their presence stateside. The squad also includes U.S. international Tyler Adams and 18-year-old American prospect Matai Akinmboni, making them a natural fit for the American market.

West Ham, Everton, and Manchester United are all comfortably above the relegation zone, making their participation likely. The Hammers sit 10 points clear, United are 12 points safe, and Everton have a 13-point cushion after a resurgence under David Moyes. With 13 games left in the season, their Premier League status looks secure.

The Premier League initially sought to include a marquee club alongside United, with Liverpool and Arsenal considered. However, Liverpool opted for a more lucrative tour of Asia, and Arsenal are expected to follow suit.

The Summer Series will begin after the FIFA Club World Cup, which concludes in the U.S. on July 13. Chelsea and Manchester City will represent England in that competition, meaning their pre-season plans are likely to differ.

With the Premier League eager to strengthen its foothold in the U.S., the 2025 Summer Series promises to be a major attraction for American fans.
