The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken drastic measures following the Black Stars’ shocking failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. In an effort to revamp the team’s fortunes, the GFA dissolved the Black Stars Management Committee.
Ghana’s AFCON qualifying campaign ended in disaster, with the team failing to win a single game. This marks the first time the Black Stars will miss the tournament since 2004.
The GFA expressed gratitude to the outgoing Management Committee members for their contributions to Ghana football. However, the association emphasized the need for restructuring to restore the Black Stars’ success.
Otto Addo’s second stint has been marred by challenges. The GFA will assess his performance and decide on the way forward.
The GFA apologized for the Black Stars’ AFCON failure and pledged to focus on the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Ghana currently sits joint-top of Group I with three wins from four matches.
