Rose Yeboah, the Ghanaian high jumper, secured her spot at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games by achieving a remarkable 1.97m jump at the NCAA Championship in Eugene, Oregon, where she clinched the collegiate title on Sunday night.
At aged 22, Yeboah, who represents the University of Illinois, made history as the first Ghanaian female athlete to claim an NCAA collegiate title, setting numerous records during the unforgettable evening for the former University of Cape Coast student.
Her jump not only set a new National Record (NR), but also established new records for NCAA, collegiate, school, Meet Record (MR), and Personal Best (PB).
Her previous national record and personal best were at 1.94m.
Adding to her impressive achievements, Yeboah’s victory at the NCAA championship further enhances her outstanding track record, following her second African Games gold medal win in Accra earlier this year.
Additionally, she holds titles as the African Senior Athletics Champion from 2022 and the World University Champion from 2023.
