The conflict between Israel and Iran has intensified as it enters its fourth day, with ongoing airstrikes and mounting casualties reported on both sides.

Overnight, Iranian strikes on central Israel killed five people and injured dozens more, according to Israel’s national emergency service. The attack marks a significant escalation in hostilities, as Iran continues to respond to Israeli strikes with drones and ballistic missiles.

On Sunday, Israeli strikes killed the chief of Iran’s armed forces intelligence unit, Mohammad Kazemi.

The conflict was reignited on Friday when Israel launched a series of strikes on Iranian territory, hitting nuclear facilities, military sites, and densely populated areas. Since then, Iran has retaliated with increasingly aggressive counterattacks.

Iran’s health ministry reports that at least 224 people have been killed in Israeli attacks since the initial strike on Friday.

Amid the escalating violence, U.S. President Donald Trump has urged both nations to pursue a deal, stating that communications and meetings are underway.

However, Iranian officials have rejected the possibility of ceasefire talks while under continued attack.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has signaled no intention to de-escalate, stating that the primary goal is to prevent Iran from advancing its nuclear program.

“The issue here is not de-escalation,” he said, “but stopping Iran from developing its nuclear capability.”

With no signs of an imminent ceasefire, fears are growing that the conflict could spiral into a broader regional war.
