President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaians to stay united and alert in the face of growing threats to national cohesion, cautioning against divisive ideologies rooted in tribalism, extremism, and political animosity.

Speaking at the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving in Accra, the President stressed the need for all citizens to actively guard against harmful rhetoric and actions that could fracture the country’s social harmony.

“Let us remain vigilant against the voices of tribalism, against the voices of religious extremism, and against the poison of political hostility,” President Mahama cautioned, adding that such influences must never be allowed to undermine the nation’s unity.

He underscored the significance of compassion, mutual understanding, and the need to foster a sense of shared identity among Ghanaians.

“We must speak a language of peace, compassion, and mutual respect,” he said. “We must build bridges, not barriers, for we are one people sharing one land and pursuing one identity and destiny.”

The event brought together government officials, faith leaders, and members of the public to reflect, pray, and renew their collective commitment to national peace and progress.
