Bradley Barcola joins Liverpool in £123m PSG transfer

Liverpool have completed the signing of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal that could reach £123m. The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract and arrives as the most expensive transfer of the summer.

The Reds will pay £106m up front, with another £17m available in add-ons. PSG had wanted around £145m earlier in the summer, but Liverpool eventually secured their man after lengthy negotiations.

Barcola becomes Liverpool’s second most expensive signing. Only Alexander Isak, who arrived from Newcastle for £125m last summer, has cost more.

The France international brings serious pace and power to Liverpool’s attack. He prefers the left wing but can play across the front line, giving manager Andoni Iraola another dangerous option in a changing forward line.

His numbers also show why Liverpool were willing to spend heavily. Barcola scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 49 games for PSG last season, while also playing in all eight of France’s matches at the 2026 World Cup.

Barcola’s trophy cabinet is already impressive. Since joining PSG from Lyon in 2023, he has won three Ligue 1 titles, two Champions League trophies, two French Cups, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

Yet his time in Paris was not always about starting the biggest games. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s arrival pushed him down the left-wing pecking order, but Barcola continued to develop under Luis Enrique.

Now comes a fresh challenge at Anfield. “I hope to achieve very big things,” Barcola said. “First of all, winning the Premier League is one of my biggest dreams in my life.”

Liverpool will hope his pace can help fill the attacking void created by Mohamed Salah’s departure. Wearing the number 29 shirt, Barcola arrives with a huge price tag, but also with something more valuable: the chance to become a star in his own right.
