Ghanaian businessman Ibrahim Mahama has extended financial support worth GH¢200,000 to xenophobia victim Emmanuel Asamoah to help him rebuild his life following his return from South Africa.

Beyond the financial assistance, Ibrahim Mahama has also pledged to establish a cement distribution and construction hardware depot to support Mr Asamoah’s transition into a new business venture in Ghana.

The support package will allow Emmanuel Asamoah to spend one month reconnecting with his family before fully returning to Ghana to begin preparations for the new business initiative.

The intervention comes days after Ibrahim Mahama assured the Minister for Foreign Affairs of his commitment to assisting Ghanaians affected by xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

During a meeting with Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa at his office, Mr Mahama encouraged Ghanaians living in South Africa to consider returning home and contributing to national development through employment opportunities within his companies based on their skills and expertise.

He further advised Ghanaians facing hardships abroad to return to Ghana to either establish businesses or acquire vocational skills, assuring them of his willingness to support their reintegration and economic empowerment.

Emmanuel Asamoah, who previously operated a nail and hairdressing business in South Africa, is expected to venture into the hardware and construction supply sector upon his return to Ghana after spending time with his family.

Mr Mahama also commended Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa for his dedication and commitment to the welfare of Ghanaians living in the country.

He further encouraged Emmanuel Asamoah to remain focused, disciplined, and resilient as he begins a new phase of his life and business journey.
