World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka reached the Miami Open final with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win over Italy’s Jasmine Paolini.
The 26-year-old Belarusian has been in exceptional form throughout the tournament, having yet to lose a set.
Sabalenka, a three-time Grand Slam champion, is making back-to-back final appearances, following her defeat to Mirra Andreeva at Indian Wells earlier this month.
This marks her first time advancing to the Miami Open final, where she will face either 17-year-old wildcard Alexandra Eala of the Philippines or American fourth seed Jessica Pegula on Saturday, after they meet in the second semi-final on Friday.
In Thursday’s match, Sabalenka showcased her power with strong serves and aggressive groundstrokes.
Apart from a couple of misjudged overheads and an underpowered ‘tweener’ shot, Sabalenka’s performance was flawless as she wrapped up the match in just 1 hour and 13 minutes.
This marks Sabalenka’s fourth final in 2025, following her win in Brisbane in January, and her losses to Madison Keys at the Australian Open and to Andreeva at Indian Wells earlier this month.
