Renowned Gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy is set to host the 2026 edition of Tehillah experience with the theme, “Alter of Fire’’ as she reflects on the journey that began in 2013 and how God has used the programme to bring testimonies and impact lives.
Speaking ahead of Tehillah 2026 on the AM Club, Ohemaa Mercy said the programme has grown bigger over the years, but she sees herself as only carrying the cross and running ahead with what God has entrusted to her.
She stated that she feels fulfilled seeing what God is doing through Tehillah and believes the glory belongs to Him. “I feel fulfilled by the wondrous works God is using me to do’’, she said.
Ohemaa Mercy explained that after the first edition in 2013, she did not immediately continue with the next edition because she needed time to understand what she was venturing into. She mentioned that she prayed and fasted and took time to seek God to really understand what God wanted her to do before continuing with Tehillah.
According to her, the testimonies recorded over the years have been one of the major reasons she continues to push the programme. She mentioned testimonies of a couple who had twins after years of infertility and a man who was healed of epilepsy as some of the testimonies that have encouraged her.
She denied being identified as a prophetess when asked if she could now be described as one. “I am not there yet, the office of the prophetess is huge, I am operating on the word of wisdom and the word of knowledge’’, she said.
She also spoke about her connection with Juanita Bynum, saying her teachings and preaching had helped her during a difficult period in her life. Ohemaa Mercy said it had been her prayer to have Juanita Bynum with her, and she was grateful that she had that opportunity in 2018.
On criticism and negative comments, she said criticism is normal, but what matters most to her is what Tehillah is producing. She said the focus remains on the testimonies and the lives being touched through the programme.
She also spoke about her fashion sense, explaining that some of the outfits she wears come from ideas she receives while praying and sometimes through dreams. She said she then communicates these ideas to her designer to bring them to life.
She further stressed the importance of the team behind Tehillah, saying she believes God has given different people gifts and abilities for the assignments He has called them to do.
She described the work as bigger than one person and said everyone has a role to play.
For Tehillah 2026, she encouraged attendees to prepare spiritually and begin praying ahead of the programme. She said attendees should come with their prayer request and leave it at the cross as an act of faith.
She disclosed that testimonies will be shared from 2pm, with the microphone handed over to her at exactly 4pm. The programme will be held at Royal House Chapel.
Ohemaa Mercy also expressed her willingness to support new and upcoming gospel artistes, particularly those who need guidance and a mother figure in the industry. She mentioned that she’s named upcoming artistes she trains “Eagles’’ and explained that she calls them “Eagles” because they are running with purpose.
Ending the conversation, she encouraged persons interested in attending the “Tehillah Experience’’ to come and early as 12 noon and prepare for a segment where they get to share their testimonies by 2pm on the day of the event.
