Ghanaian youth advocate and anti-corruption champion, Bright Ofori, has made a remarkable impression on the global stage after delivering a powerful message on integrity at the United Nations Office in Vienna.
Representing Ghana as a member of the UNODC YouthLED Integrity Advisory Board, Ofori addressed an international audience on his efforts to promote transparency and ethical leadership through his civil society organization, The Bright Future Alliance (TBFA).
The event, an intergenerational dialogue and youth perspectives session, was organized by the United Nations in collaboration with the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center (ROLACC) of the State of Qatar.
It brought together previous winners of the Emir of Qatar’s Anti-Corruption Excellence (ACE) Award, along with experts and advocates from across sectors, to discuss strategies for advancing global integrity and accountability.
In his presentation, Ofori reflected on his journey as a young leader fighting corruption across Ghana and Africa. He outlined the progress made through grassroots engagement and youth empowerment initiatives, while also calling for stronger partnerships between governments, international institutions, and civil society to strengthen accountability mechanisms.
His speech, characterized by passion and authenticity, earned widespread praise from attendees.
At the close of the dialogue, Ofori joined fellow participants and global experts in designing a new mentorship programme to be implemented by UNODC and ROLACC. The initiative will train and equip young people worldwide with leadership tools to champion integrity within their communities.
While in Austria, Ofori was received by H.E. Matilda Aku Alomatu Osei-Agyeman, Ghana’s Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Vienna.
During their meeting, they discussed Ghana’s growing influence in global governance, as well as ongoing national efforts to promote good governance, integrity, and youth inclusion. Ofori also briefed the Ambassador on his international engagements and role on the UNODC YouthLED Integrity Advisory Board.
Expressing gratitude after the meeting, Ofori said:
