Kylian Mbappe, recently addressed a controversial issue between his new club, Real Madrid, and the French Football Federation (FFF) regarding his participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
After his much-awaited transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid was finalized two weeks ago, Mbappe has been focusing on the ongoing Euro 2024 tournament.
However, he won’t be joining Thierry Henry’s team for the Olympic football event in Paris post-Euros, as Real Madrid has prohibited their French players, including Mbappe, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Eduardo Camavinga, from taking part in the U23 competition.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference before France’s Euro 2024 debut against Austria, Mbappe expressed his acceptance of Real Madrid’s decision, acknowledging that he won’t be participating in the Olympics due to his new club’s stance.
“I understand my club’s position as I am a newcomer,” Mbappe stated, adding that he hopes for a successful Games for France.
While focusing on the Euros in Germany, Mbappe shared insights into his discussions with Les Bleus head coach Didier Deschamps regarding his role on the field.
“I have spoken with the coach, and he has given me the flexibility to play in multiple positions, which I am prepared for and ready to adapt to,” Mbappe explained, highlighting his versatility and readiness to contribute wherever needed.
Addressing concerns about his fitness, Mbappe confidently stated, “I’m mentally prepared to win. My mindset is strong, and now it’s just a matter of my physical condition.”
In addition to football matters, Mbappe also touched upon the socio-political climate in France, urging young people to exercise their voting rights and make informed decisions.
“We are at a crucial moment in our country,” Mbappe emphasized, encouraging citizens to align with the nation’s values and participate actively in shaping its future through voting.
Kylian Mbappe’s statements reflect not just his prowess on the football field but also his awareness of broader societal issues, making him a respected figure both on and off the pitch.
