With eyes set on regional glory, Ghana’s Black Satellites will enter camp on May 26 at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, launching their preparations for the first-ever WAFU U-20 Cup.

The two-week tournament, scheduled from June 15 to 30, will bring together the finest youth teams from across West Africa in a celebration of emerging talent and fierce regional rivalries. For Ghana, it’s more than a debut, it’s a statement of intent.

Players have been asked to report to camp by 10 a.m. on the first day, as the technical team begins shaping a squad that blends seasoned campaigners and fresh faces. Many of the selected players featured in the recent TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, giving the team a foundation of tournament experience to build upon.

The squad is bolstered by several promising call-ups eager to stake their claim on the international stage. Ghana aims to use this WAFU Cup as a stepping stone toward future continental and global success.

The Ghana Football Association has made youth development a cornerstone of its long-term vision, and the Black Satellites’ camp marks another chapter in that mission. The GFA believes this tournament offers a vital platform to test their progress, strengthen team chemistry, and uncover future stars.

With the pressure of history and expectation ever-present, the Satellites know what’s at stake. In a region bursting with raw football talent, the road to dominance begins with these early steps in Prampram.
