The Minister Designate for Gender, Children, and Social Protection Ministry, Agnes Naa Momo Laretey, has noted that she will prioritise embedding Ghanaian family values into the country’s educational curriculum if given the nod to lead the Ministry.
Speaking during her appearance before the vetting committee, she explained that integrating such values from an early age would help the younger generation better understand and uphold the societal norms cherished by Ghanaians.
“It is essential to ensure that our children are taught these values right from the beginning,” she emphasised during her appearance at the vetting committee on Wednesday, adding that this approach would provide a sustainable foundation alongside legal measures.
Her comments come on the back of brewing conversations around the controversial Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, also known as the anti-gay bill.
