The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the constitution of its Standing and Sector Committees following a decision taken by the party’s National Executive Committee and National Council.
According to the party, the decision was reached during a meeting held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in accordance with provisions of the party’s constitution.
In a statement signed by the NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, and issued from the party’s headquarters in Accra-North on May 8, 2026, the party explained that the Standing Committees were constituted under Article 10(2)(6) of the party constitution, while the Sector Committees were established in line with Articles 10(3)(8) and 14(5).
The NPP stated that a total of seven Standing Committees and 23 Sector Committees have been formed as part of efforts to strengthen internal governance, improve coordination, and enhance the operational efficiency of the party.
According to the statement, the restructuring is intended to support the party’s organisational activities and ensure more effective management of its internal affairs ahead of future political engagements.
One of the key committees announced is the Finance Committee, which has been tasked with overseeing the party’s financial administration and resource mobilisation efforts.
The committee is chaired by Fred Oware, while Charles Dwamena will serve as Secretary.
Other members of the committee include Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, Nana Adwoa Dokua, William Oppong-Bio, Irene Naa Torshie Addo, Abena Osei Asare, Edward Boateng, Joseph Ampomah Bosompem, Adelaide Ahwireng, and Alhassan Yakubu Tali.
The party says the newly constituted committees are expected to play critical roles in strengthening the NPP’s internal structures and supporting its strategic direction.
