The Vice Presidential Candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has appealed to nursing students to back the NPP, emphasizing that their votes are vital for the success of key initiatives like Agenda 111, a nationwide hospital development project.
Speaking to nursing trainees at the Pantan Nursing and Midwifery Training College in Accra, Dr. Prempeh urged them to prevent former President John Dramani Mahama from returning to office, claiming that the previous NDC administration mishandled issues concerning nursing trainees.
He highlighted the NPP’s restoration of trainee allowances as a testament to the party’s commitment to the well-being of nursing students, contrasting it with the NDC’s decision to cancel the allowances, which he argued caused considerable hardship for students during Mahama’s tenure.
Dr. Prempeh positioned the upcoming election as a choice between the continuity of NPP’s policies and the uncertainty of Mahama’s leadership.
