George Mills breaks record at British Indoor Athletics Championships

George Mills set a new championship record to win the men’s 3,000m at the British Indoor Athletics Championships in Birmingham.

He finished 0.17 seconds ahead of James West with a time of 7 minutes 40.16 seconds, breaking the previous record by nearly 10 seconds.

The 25-year-old was cheered on by his father, former England footballer Danny Mills, as he claimed victory.

Speaking to the media after the race, Mills said, “I came here with a goal, to qualify for the European Indoor Championships and to put my name forward for the World Championships and of course, to win.

I’m thrilled to have done that.” He added, “Moving forward, I’m aiming for medals at these competitions.

I give everything to this sport and want to be the best athlete I can be.”

Mills’ performance has earned him a spot in the European Indoor Championships, showcasing his growing potential on the international athletics scene. His achievement reflects his dedication and sets the stage for further success in upcoming competitions.
