Inter Milan reached the Champions League final after a dramatic 4-3 extra-time win over Barcelona, securing a 7-6 aggregate victory in one of the competition’s most thrilling semifinals.
The Italian side dominated the first half, with Lautaro Martinez scoring on the counter and Hakan Calhanoglu converting a penalty to give Inter a two-goal lead at halftime.
Barcelona roared back in the second half, with quick goals from Eric Garcia and Dani Olmo leveling the score. Raphinha’s late strike in the 87th minute seemed to seal it for the Catalans.
However, veteran defender Francesco Acerbi rescued Inter in added time with a stunning equaliser, forcing extra time.
In the 99th minute, substitute Davide Frattesi scored the winner after a brilliant assist from Marcus Thuram.
Goalkeeper Yann Sommer made several crucial saves to preserve the lead, including two late stops from Lamine Yamal.
Inter will now face either PSG or Arsenal in the final in Munich, as they aim for their fourth European crown and first in 15 years.
Barcelona, denied a treble, will now focus on LaLiga as they prepare to host Real Madrid this weekend.
