The Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has commended the remarkable achievements of the Minority caucus during the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic.
Speaking at the dissolution of the 8th Parliament on January 6, Dr. Forson took the opportunity to reflect on the caucus’s performance, emphasizing their unwavering commitment to fulfilling the expectations of the Ghanaian people, even in the face of daunting challenges.
He acknowledged the significant hurdles the Minority had to overcome, particularly in their efforts to resist executive actions that, in their view, would have negatively impacted the nation’s economy.
Despite these difficulties, he noted that the caucus remained resolute and determined to safeguard the interests of Ghanaians.
“Mr. Speaker, every phase of this journey has been marked by its own twists and turns, highs and lows. Yet, in the end, the NDC Majority Caucus rose to the occasion, delivered on its mandate, and lived up to the expectations of the people of Ghana,” he remarked with pride.
Dr. Forson also expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their dedication and tireless efforts throughout the 8th Parliament, reaffirming their commitment to continue serving as a strong and responsible opposition.
He further assured the public that the caucus would not waver in its role as a watchdog for the country’s democracy and economic well-being.
The dissolution of the 8th Parliament would pave way for the inauguration of the 9th Parliament later tonight.
