On a night soaked in chaos and brilliance, Bayern Munich outlasted Real Madrid in a breathless Champions League classic. A 4-3 win in Munich sealed a 6-4 aggregate triumph, but it was the late twist, shaped by Eduardo Camavinga’s red card and Bayern’s ruthless finish, that defined the tie.

From the first whistle, the game refused to settle. Real Madrid struck inside 35 seconds through Arda Güler, punishing a rare mistake from Manuel Neuer and igniting hopes of another famous European comeback.

Bayern responded with urgency. Aleksandar Pavlovic nodded in from close range minutes later, restoring balance in a tie that swung wildly between two giants who know this stage better than most.

The first half became a blur of goals and momentum shifts. Güler struck again with a fine free kick, Harry Kane answered with a composed finish, and Kylian Mbappe drove Madrid ahead once more before the break.

It was football at its most raw. Five goals, endless transitions, and two sides trading blows without restraint. For all the quality, there was also fragility, with both goalkeepers drawn into costly moments.

Kane’s goal carried extra weight. It marked his 50th of the season, a milestone not reached by an English player in Europe’s top leagues for nearly a century. “It is a reward for a lot of the hard work,” he said. “It would not be possible without the players around me.”

The second half brought a shift in tone. The tempo slowed, the spaces tightened, and both teams began to calculate rather than gamble. Bayern looked stronger as the minutes passed, trusting their fitness and structure.

“We knew as the game went on we would get stronger,” Kane explained. “Then we were able to take our chances at the end.”

That moment came with four minutes left. Camavinga, already booked, fouled Kane and then delayed the restart, earning a second yellow card that left Madrid exposed.

Real’s frustration was clear. Head coach Alvaro Arbeloa called the decision “really unbelievable,” adding, “It is not possible in a match like this that you are sent off for this.”

Bayern did not hesitate. Luis Diaz combined with Jamal Musiala before curling home a decisive strike in the 89th minute, a goal that felt inevitable once Madrid went down to ten men.

Michael Olise added a fourth in stoppage time, sealing a result that sends Bayern into a semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain. For Vincent Kompany’s side, the dream of a treble remains alive.

For Madrid, the night ended in anger and disbelief. Players surrounded the referee, and Güler was shown a red card after the final whistle, capping a chaotic exit.

“It was a tough game,” Kane said. “Real Madrid and the Champions League have this special connection. You need to be at the highest level to beat them.”
