Accra Hearts of Oak have officially appointed former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars assistant coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, as their new head coach on a two-year contract.
The decision marks a significant move in the club’s restructuring of its technical team ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Dramani takes over from Ivorian coach Aboubakar Ouattara, who is expected to assume a new role as the club’s technical director.
The reshuffle comes as part of a broader plan to strengthen the club’s competitiveness and return to title contention.
The experienced Ghanaian tactician, who notably led Ghana’s U17 women’s team, the Black Maidens and previously coached arch-rivals Asante Kotoko, will be joined by Abdul Gazalle and Fiifi Parker as his assistant coaches.
Hearts of Oak turned to Dramani after negotiations broke down with their initial target, Maxwell Konadu, due to financial disagreements.
Konadu, also a former Kotoko and national team coach, had been in advanced talks with the club before discussions stalled.
The Phobians ended the 2024/25 season on a relatively positive note with a top-four finish in the Ghana Premier League.
Though they missed out on silverware, the campaign represented progress from the previous season, where the club narrowly avoided relegation.
With Dramani at the helm, Hearts of Oak are now setting their sights firmly on winning the Ghana Premier League title in the 2025/26 season.
The club hopes the experienced tactician will bring stability, discipline, and tactical acumen to help them reclaim domestic dominance.
