The New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has vowed to bolster and expand Ghana’s Free Senior High School and Technical and Vocational Education and Training programs.
Speaking at the NPP’s manifesto launch in Takoradi, Dr Bawumia emphasized the transformative impact of these initiatives on the nation’s youth and development trajectory.
He emphasized his administration’s dedication to providing equal access to quality education for all Ghanaian children, regardless of their socio-economic background.
“Our government will protect and enhance the Free SHS/TVET programs, which are transforming lives and improving outcomes for millions. Since the introduction of Free SHS/TVET, enrolment has increased by 83%. We are building the foundation for a well-educated and prosperous society.”
“Our administration will safeguard and augment the Free SHS/TVET programs, which have revolutionized education and improved outcomes for countless students,” Dr. Bawumia declared.
“With an 83% surge in enrollment since inception, we’re laying the groundwork for a highly educated and thriving society.”
Dr. Bawumia outlined plans to inject additional funding, upgrade infrastructure and introduce cutting-edge curricula aligned with modern job market demands. He also promised to broaden access to TVET programs and attract more teachers with enhanced working conditions.
The Free SHS and TVET initiatives have achieved remarkable success, including bridging the gender gap in secondary education. Dr. Bawumia highlighted the far-reaching benefits of these programs for Ghana’s future.
