The Ministry of Health has assured Ghanaians that no suspected or confirmed cases of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) have been detected in the country, despite recent outbreaks reported in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
In a statement issued by the ministry, authorities said information received from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) confirmed that both countries are currently managing suspected and confirmed Ebola infections.

The ministry, however, stressed that Ghana remains Ebola-free and has already activated a number of preventive measures across the country to strengthen national preparedness against any possible outbreak.

According to the statement, the Ministry of Health is working closely with international health partners to enhance surveillance and response systems nationwide.
As part of the precautionary measures, health screening and monitoring activities at airports, seaports, and land borders have been intensified, especially for travellers arriving from affected countries.
The ministry added that public health authorities remain on high alert and are continuing to monitor developments closely to protect the country from any potential spread of the disease.
