The case involving former Minister of Finance Ken Ofori-Atta and seven others in the ongoing investigation into the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) revenue assurance contract with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has been adjourned to a later date.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) announced the adjournment in a Facebook post on Monday, November 24, 2025, noting that the High Court would not sit on the initially scheduled date. A new date, the OSP said, will be communicated by the court to both the prosecution and the accused persons.

The OSP on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, filed 78 charges against Mr. Ofori-Atta and the seven co-accused over their alleged roles in the controversial GRA–SML revenue assurance agreements. The charges include breaches of Section 23(1) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) and Section 92(2)(b) of the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663).

A section of the suit, filed under case number CR/0106/2026 at the Criminal Division of the High Court in Accra, states:

“Conspiracy to commit the criminal offence of directly or indirectly influencing the procurement process to obtain an unfair advantage in the award of a procurement contract, contrary to section 23(1) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), and section 92(2)(b) of the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663).”

Individuals expected to stand trial alongside the former Finance Minister include former GRA Commissioners-General Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah and Emmanuel Kofi Nti; senior GRA officials Isaac Crentsil and Kwadwo Damoa; former Technical Advisor at the Ministry of Finance Ernest Akore; Evans Adusei, owner of SML; and the company SML itself.
