In a landmark move to elevate Ghanaian football, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has presented buses to nine Division One League clubs. This generous gesture fulfills a promise made by GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku during the 29th Ordinary Congress in Kumasi in 2023.

The beneficiary clubs, representing the top three teams from each zone of the Division One League, will benefit from improved logistics and operational capacity. This initiative aims to motivate clubs to excel while alleviating their transportation burden.

The zonal winners are:
– Zone 1: Young Apostles FC (1st, now in Premier League), Techiman Heroes FC (2nd), Victory Club Warriors (3rd)

– Zone 2: Basake Holy Stars (1st, now in Premier League), New Edubiase FC (2nd), Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs (3rd)

– Zone 3: Vision FC (1st, now in Premier League), Okwawu United (2nd), Hohoe United (3rd).

President Simeon-Okraku emphasized the GFA’s commitment to advancing Ghanaian football. “This initiative is part of our broader strategy to empower clubs and ensure sustainable development of the game.”

The Bus Acquisition Strategy addresses the need for comfortable transportation, aligning with the GFA’s theme of “fixing the fundamentals” of Ghana Football.

Football stakeholders have praised the move, expressing optimism about its long-term impact on the Division One League.
