Ghana’s relay team faced a tough break in the 4x100m race at the World Relay Championships in the Bahamas, clocking in at 42.70s.

The United States set the pace with a world-leading time of 37.49s, securing their spot in the Olympics alongside Italy at 38.14s.

Liberia finished 4th with 39.07s, eyeing the next race to aim for a chance at the Paris games.

The baton exchange between Isaac Botsio and Benjamin Azamati didn’t go smoothly, causing a setback for the team after a promising start.

Ghana has had relay troubles before, like in 2021 in Silesia, where a poor changeover led to a sixth-place finish in the final after a strong heat performance of 38.79s.

There’s still hope for the Ghanaian team, but they’ll need to regroup quickly for Day 2 of the relay event. Let’s cheer them on as they aim to improve and secure a spot for Ghana in the Olympic Games!
