The Ghana Education Service (GES) has refuted a viral social media claim suggesting that floodwaters had destroyed West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) papers, forcing plans for candidates to rewrite the affected papers.

The widely circulated post alleged that heavy rains on June 29 led to the washing away of examination materials, creating disruptions in the ongoing examinations.

It further claimed that GES intended to organise a rewrite for affected candidates and would issue a revised timetable and additional guidance in due course.

However, GES has dismissed the statement as entirely false, urging the public to disregard it.

The Service cautioned students, parents, and stakeholders to be wary of misinformation and to always verify updates through its official communication platforms.

GES reaffirmed its commitment to the smooth conduct of the WASSCE and encouraged the public to rely only on authenticated announcements from the Service.
