The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a newly restructured Management Committee for the Black Stars, aimed at revitalizing the team ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualification campaign.
Dr. Randy Abbey, a respected member of the GFA Executive Council, has been appointed as the Chairman of the committee.
His role will involve spearheading engagements with the government and other key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration for the team’s progress.
Supporting Dr. Abbey is Stephen Appiah, former captain of the Black Stars, who takes on the role of Vice-Chairman.
Appiah will focus on player relations, working to foster motivation, unity, and support within the squad as they prepare for critical matches.
Other members of the committee include prominent football administrators such as Samuel Aboabire, Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association, and Moses Armah, President of Medeama Sporting Club, who will oversee matchday operations and stakeholder relations.
Additionally, Richard Nsenkyire, President of FC Samartex 1996, has been named a member of the committee.
This restructuring comes in response to the Black Stars’ disappointing performance in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
The new committee is expected to bring fresh expertise and guidance as the team works to regain form and achieve success in their upcoming matches.
The Black Stars are set to face Chad and Madagascar in March, where they aim to secure crucial points to boost their chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
