Speaker to rule on petition to unseat 4MP’s today

Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has announced that he has filed an injunction application at the Supreme Court in response to the Minority's efforts to declare the seats of Independent candidates vacant.

The Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin is set to pass a ruling today, Thursday, October 17, on a petition seeking to unseat four sitting MPs from the House.

Some members expected to be affected by this petition include the MP for Agona West, Cynthia Morrison, MP for Suhum Kojo Asante, Fomena MP Andrew Asiamah and Amenfi Central MP Kwakye Ackah removed for filing to contest as independent candidates in the upcoming December polls.
