The Ghana Police Service has issued guidelines to regulate the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s upcoming nationwide protest against the Electoral Commission (EC).
During a press conference on Monday, September 16, the police emphasized the need for a peaceful and lawful demonstration, urging participants to adhere to the designated routes and schedules.
The protest, organized by the NDC, stems from their dissatisfaction with the EC’s refusal to conduct an audit of the voter register ahead of the December election.
The police stressed the importance of cooperation between the organizers and law enforcement to ensure public safety. They also warned that any destruction of property during the demonstration could result in financial penalties.
Security personnel will be deployed along all protest routes to maintain order and prevent disruptions.
