Forson Amankwah a midfielder who plays for Norwich City in the English Championship, has been called up to the Black Stars squad for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
The 21-year-old will join the team in Kumasi on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, as they prepare for their Group F opener at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Amankwah has had an impressive start to his career at Norwich City, contributing two assists in just six appearances since his move from Red Bull Salzburg.
His strong performances at Carrow Road have earned him a spot in the national team as Ghana looks to secure a strong start in their AFCON campaign.
The young midfielder, who previously honed his skills at the West Africa Football Academy (WAFA), already has two caps for Ghana, having featured in matches against Nigeria and Uganda earlier this year.
Ghana will face Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, September 5, before heading to Morocco for their second qualifier against Niger on Monday, September 9, 2024.
