President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in seven newly appointed Justices of the Supreme Court at a ceremony held at the Jubilee House, marking a significant expansion of Ghana’s highest court.
The appointments are aimed at bolstering the judiciary’s capacity to manage an increasing caseload, especially as the country prepares to tackle complex constitutional and electoral matters in the coming months.
The swearing-in ceremony, which took place on Thursday, July 3, follows the successful vetting and approval of the nominees by Parliament’s Appointments Committee.
