Legon Cities marked a significant turnaround in their fortunes, snapping a five-game losing streak with an impressive 3-0 win over Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Goals from Fredrick Akatuk, Frank Akoto, and Raymond Agyemang, gave Cities a crucial boost, lifting them off the bottom of the table, though they remain in the relegation zone.
Akatuk opened the scoring with a precise finish, and Akoto quickly doubled the lead, benefiting from some defensive lapses by Dreams FC.
Agyemang then sealed the victory with a clinical strike in the dying moments.
In terms of statistics, Cities dominated possession (57%) and registered five shots on target, while Dreams FC failed to produce any effort on goal.
The hosts also had the upper hand in set pieces, earning nine corner kicks compared to Dreams’ four.
While the loss leaves Dreams FC in peril of slipping into the relegation zone, Legon Cities will hope this much-needed victory serves as a springboard for their survival bid in the weeks ahead.
With their confidence restored, they now look ahead to building on this success and climbing further away from danger.
