Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has been successfully elected to the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Mr. Okraku joins a prestigious list of Ghanaian football leaders who have served on the CAF Executive Committee, including Ohene Djan, Kobina Hagan, Nana Fredua Mensah, Samuel Okyere, and Kwesi Nyantakyi.
Okraku was elected unopposed and will serve a four-year term, from 2025 to 2029, on the 24-member committee, which plays a crucial role in shaping African football’s future.
Having assumed the leadership of Ghana football in October 2019, Mr. Okraku later became the head of WAFU Zone B in 2023.
His appointment to CAF’s Executive Committee strengthens Ghana’s influence in the decision-making processes of African football, providing the GFA with a more significant opportunity to advocate for progressive reforms and development across the continent.
