The Ghana Education Service (GES) has launched an administrative investigation into the tragic stabbing death of Edward Sackey, a final-year student at O’Reilly Senior High School.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the GES expressed its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased student, who was fatally stabbed on Monday.

The GES Director-General, Eric Nkansah, led a team to visit the school and the bereaved family to offer their sympathies.

The statement assured the public that calm has been restored on campus, and measures are in place to ensure the well-being and safety of students and staff.

The GES urged the public to refrain from speculating about the circumstances surrounding Sackey’s death, emphasizing the need to let the investigations run their course.

The administrative investigation is expected to conclude within two weeks, while the Ghana Police Service handles the criminal investigation.

The GES will provide updates as necessary and has committed to ensuring student safety following the incident.
