The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced the disqualification of 12 presidential candidates from the upcoming December 7, 2024, elections.
In a communiqué issued today, September 20, 2024, the EC revealed that Bernard Mornah of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and Janet Nabla of the People’s National Party (PNP) are among those disqualified.
Other disqualified candidates include Nana Stephens Adjepong, Paul Perkoh, James Kwesi Oppong, John Enyonam Kwakwu Kpikpi, Dr. Samuel Sampong Ankrah, Nii Amu Darko, Samuel Apea-Danquah, Desmond Abrefah and Kofi Asamoah Siaw (Progressive People’s Party).
The EC’s decision comes after a thorough examination of the nomination forms submitted between September 9 and September 13, 2024, to ensure compliance with legal requirements .
