Bernard Mornah has been elected as the flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC) after securing a landslide victory in the party’s congress.
He won with an impressive 1,138 votes, surpassing his opponent David Apasera who garnered 216 votes.
The announcement was made by Electoral Commission officials at the UDS Guest House in Accra, marking a significant milestone for the party ahead of the December general elections.
In his victory speech, Mornah extended an olive branch to Apasera, urging him to join forces to strengthen the party’s position in the upcoming polls. He emphasized the need for unity to help the PNC gain political power.
The congress, which was initially delayed due to an injunction filed by Apasera’s camp, was resolved amicably, allowing the event to proceed without further disruptions.
