Accra, Ghana – May 28, 2025 – In celebration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, Yazz, a leading brand in personal care and hygiene, proudly launched the “Empowered Periods” Campaign—a bold initiative aimed at raising awareness on menstrual hygiene and crossing out period poverty across Ghana.
The campaign officially kicked off on Wednesday, June 28th, with simultaneous street awareness activations across 14 major locations in the Greater Accra Region. Volunteers, health advocates, and media partners took to the streets with educational materials, free sanitary product giveaways, and direct engagement with women and girls to break the silence surrounding menstruation and promote healthy hygiene practices.
“Menstrual health is not a luxury—it’s a basic right. Through this campaign, we’re making that statement louder than ever,” said Naana Lexis Opoku-Agyemang, PR for the campaign.
In the coming weeks, the Empowered Periods Campaign will expand into a series of school tours across selected junior high schools, continuing its mission to educate, equip, and empower young girls with accurate information and access to essential products. These school sessions will also include interactive talks and demonstrations on menstrual hygiene,
“This campaign with Yazz directly aligns with CroXItOut’s mission to champion female health and empowerment. We’re excited to see the impact unfold across Ghana,” said Bernice Quarshie, Producer for the CroXItOut Show.
The campaign is being amplified across media through MX24, Yazz’s official media partner for the campaign. Live updates, interviews, and highlight reels will be aired on TV and shared across digital platforms.
Follow the movement online via @Yazz_products, @CroXItOut, and @MX24GH on all social platforms as we join Yazz to #CroXOutPeriodPoverty and foster a generation of informed, confident, and empowered young women.
