Chairman of the MTN FA Cup, Wilson Arthur, has announced that the Tarkwa TNA Stadium will host the semifinals of this year’s competition.
The quarterfinals of the domestic cup took place over the weekend, creating an electric atmosphere in Kumasi on both Saturday and Sunday.
This decision is part of the committee’s initiative to bring the game closer to the fans.
Following the conclusion of the quarterfinals, Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea, Golden Kick, and Attram de Visser secured spots in the final four.
Speaking about the plans for the upcoming stage, Arthur confirmed that the semifinals would be held in Tarkwa.
“It’s a good thing to create a mini-festival out of the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final,” he told 3Sports.
“It means we’ll have to do a lot more work, and we won’t be playing games on a Saturday.”
The semifinals are scheduled to take place in two weeks.
