Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has withdrawn from the Black Stars Squad set to face Sudan in the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers this month.
Thomas Partey’s withdrawal follows Arsenal’s request for additional medical tests, which requires him to remain in London due to fitness concerns.
Joseph Paintsil from LA Galaxy, Osman Ibrahim of Feyenoord and Kingsley Schindler from Samsunspor are also players missing out due to injuries.
Paintsil is experiencing hamstring pain after LA Galaxy’s recent match, with an MRI scheduled for October 7.
Ibrahim sustained a hamstring injury over the weekend, while Schindler faced a medical emergency that prevented his travel to Accra.
Coach Otto Addo has quickly called up replacements, including Michael Baidoo from IF Elfsborg, Abu Francis from Cercle Brugge, Jonas Adjetey, and Ibrahim Sadick, to strengthen the squad for the important qualifiers.
The first leg against Sudan is set for Thursday, October 10, with the second leg following on October 14.
