Starting the day trailing 8-4, Europe closed the gap with a doubles win by Alcaraz and Casper Ruud over Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe, 6-2, 7-6 (6). However, Shelton’s win against Daniil Medvedev 6-7 (6), 7-5, 10-7 gave Team World an 11-7 lead.
