Harry Styles paid tribute to Liam Payne during his October 16 concert at Madison Square Garden in New York, performing an unreleased song titled What Is Enough on the second anniversary of his former bandmate’s death.

The performance took place during Styles’ Together, Together residency. According to TheWrap’s October 17 report, he introduced the song by reflecting on the friends and collaborators who had helped him reach that stage of his career.

He then told the audience that he had written the track for his friend about two years earlier. Footage of the performance was shared online and included in TheWrap’s coverage.

Indonesian news agency ANTARA also reported the tribute on October 18, citing E! News. Its account described Styles encouraging members of the audience to look after one another while acknowledging the difficulty of losing someone close.

The song was presented as an unreleased live performance. The reports reviewed did not announce a commercial release date or confirm that a studio version would be made available on streaming platforms.

Payne died in October 2024, aged 31. He and Styles became internationally known through One Direction, alongside Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik. The group emerged from The X Factor in 2010 before its members went on to develop solo careers.

The latest tribute follows earlier public reflections from Styles about his friendship with Payne. ANTARA recalled a March interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in which Styles spoke about coping with the loss and honouring his friend through the way he lives.
