Usibras Ghana Limited has been honoured with the ‘Gold Ultimate Award for 2024 in Agribusiness’ at the just-ended 33rd and 34th President’s National Export Awards, organized by the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA).
The prestigious ceremony was held at the Grand Arena on Wednesday, 17th December 2025, and was graced by the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, alongside government officials, captains of industry, and key stakeholders in Ghana’s export sector.
The award comes at a time when Usibras faced notable challenges in accessing adequate raw materials for processing during the year. Despite these difficulties, the company emerged ahead of other agribusiness firms, many of which are solely engaged in the export of raw agricultural commodities. Usibras stood out for its commitment to *value addition*, processing cashew nuts locally before exporting to international markets.
Speaking to the media after receiving the award, *Mr. Nathan Eboyi* highlighted the company’s processing capacity and the need for stronger regulatory compliance within the cashew industry.
“We have the capacity to process more and increase our export volumes if the regulations put in place to support local processing are fully adhered to in the cashew industry,” he stated.
Mr. Eboyi made specific reference to the *Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) regulations*, stressing that effective enforcement would ensure fair access to raw materials for local processors, enhance value addition, and support Ghana’s broader industrialization and export development agenda.
He further noted that prioritizing local processing is essential for job creation, increased foreign exchange earnings, and the long-term sustainability of the cashew value chain.
