Usibras Ghana Limited has successfully held its Annual Cashew Harvest Seminar in Techiman, bringing together selected cashew farmers from registered cooperatives across the country to prepare for the 2025 cashew harvesting season.
The seminar, held under the theme “Cashew Forward: Technical Excellence, Diversified Income and Strong Cooperatives,” forms part of Usibras Ghana Limited’s commitment to strengthening farmer capacity, improving productivity, and promoting sustainable practices within Ghana’s cashew value chain.
The event attracted key stakeholders from the cashew industry, including representatives from the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA), farmer cooperative leaders, extension officers, and management of Usibras Ghana Limited. Participants were taken through technical sessions focusing on good agricultural practices, quality management, post-harvest handling, and strategies for income diversification.
Speaking at the seminar, officials of Usibras Ghana Limited reiterated the company’s dedication to supporting farmers beyond purchasing raw cashew nuts. As part of this year’s program, the company provided practical training and donated 2500 cashew seedlings to all 46 farmer groups and farm equipment to selected farmer groups to enhance efficiency and productivity at the farm level.
Usibras emphasized that strong cooperatives and well-trained farmers remain critical to the sustainability of the cashew sector, particularly in the face of evolving market conditions. The company encouraged farmers to prioritize quality, collaboration, and long-term partnerships to ensure mutual growth across the value chain.
Farmers who participated in the seminar expressed appreciation for the continuous engagement and support from Usibras Ghana Limited, describing the forum as timely and relevant ahead of the harvesting season.
The Annual Cashew Harvest Seminar has become a key platform for dialogue between processors and farmers, reinforcing Usibras Ghana Limited’s role as a leading cashew processor committed to value addition, farmer empowerment, and the development of Ghana’s cashew industry.
