Swedru All Blacks have called for an official investigation after chaotic scenes marred their Division One League clash against Elmina Sharks at the Dr. Papa Kwasi Ndoum Sports Complex on Sunday, February 16, 2025. The club alleges their players, officials, and the match referees were subjected to intimidation and violence, sparking fresh concerns over security in Ghanaian football.

According to Swedru All Blacks, tensions escalated when the referee awarded them a penalty in the 12th minute. The home team’s owner, Dr. Papa Kwasi Ndoum, and club official Aboagye reportedly invaded the pitch in protest, instructing their players to abandon the match. The confrontation led to a 27-minute delay, with the referee refusing requests to overturn the decision.

All Blacks statement

After the final whistle, some home fans allegedly threatened match officials, and Aboagye is accused of leading an attack on the referee near the tunnel. Despite police presence, the sheer number of supporters overwhelmed security, forcing players and officials to flee the venue under escort.

Swedru All Blacks have now urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to take immediate action, emphasizing their commitment to fair play. They have also called for the release of match footage to allow the public to assess the events that unfolded.
