President John Dramani Mahama has appointed the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi as the Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC).
This appointment, effective January 16, 2025, tasks Mr. Gyamfi with the establishment of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), a key promise in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 manifesto.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Acting Spokesperson to the President, announced the appointment, highlighting the administration’s commitment to economic revitalisation and sustainable development through the GoldBod initiative.
The GoldBod, under the direction of the Minister for Finance, is one of the top priorities of the Mahama administration aimed at economic revitalisation. It will be responsible for the sustainable management and marketing of Ghana’s gold resources for the benefit of the Ghanaian people.
