Suspected NDC thugs destroy EC collation centre for Ablekuma North

Some thugs suspected to be affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have ransacked the collation centre at the Greater Accra Regional Office of the Electoral Commission. 

This halted the activities of the EC whicxh was set to resume the collation of parliamentary election results for the Ablekuma North constituency today, January 17.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred as media personnel and officials awaited the process to commence.

Over 40 individuals stormed the venue, ordered everyone to vacate the premises, and began destroying property, including louvre blades and doors.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but it has sparked concerns about the security of the collation process and the integrity of the electoral outcome in the constituency.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident, and it is unclear if any arrests have been made.

The collation of parliamentary election results for the Ablekuma North Constituency was expected to resume at the old head office of the Electoral Commission (EC) in Ridge, Greater Accra on Friday.
