Rafael Nadal, the 22-time Grand Slam champion, has been selected for Spain’s Davis Cup Final Eight squad, despite ongoing fitness concerns.

Nadal joins world number three Carlos Alcaraz, Roberto Bautista Agut, Pablo Carreno Busta, and Marcel Granollers in the pursuit of Spain’s seventh Davis Cup title.

The 38-year-old former world number one has been sidelined since the Paris 2024 Olympics, where he lost to Novak Djokovic in singles and in the doubles quarterfinals alongside Alcaraz. Nadal withdrew from the US Open and Laver Cup due to fitness concerns.

Spain, six-time champions, faces the Netherlands in the quarterfinals starting November 19. The semifinals will take place on consecutive days, followed by the final on November 24.
