Spain kicked off their campaign in the ongoing UEFA European Championship in style with an impressive performance against Croatia.

Spain secured an emphatic 3-0 victory against Croatia in the opening match in the competition.

In the first half of the match, Spain demonstrated their offensive prowess by scoring three goals.  Alvaro Morata, Fabian Ruiz, and Dani Carvajal made significant contributions to the scoreline.

The opening goal occurred in the 29th minute when Fabian Ruiz delivered a precise pass to Alvaro Morata, who capitalized on the opportunity.

Shortly after, Pedri’s assist set up Fabian Ruiz for Spain’s second goal, stamping their authority over their opponents in the showpiece.

Croatia then came into the game, created a couple of chances after conceding two goals but they failed to burry those chances into the net.

However, just before the halftime whistle, the young talent Lamine Yamal, the youngest player ever to participate in the UEFA European Championship, provided an assist that allowed Carvajal to secure Spain’s third goal.

Now what it means for Lamine Yamal is that, at 16 years and 338 days old,  Yamal has written his name in the history books on his European Championship debut.

He has now the youngest player to provide an assist in the competition.

In the second half, Croatia found the back of the net through a rebound from a spot kick but the goal was disallowed due to an encroachment by a Croatian player.

Looking ahead, Spain is set to face Italy in their next match, while Croatia will take on Albania.
